is it safe to use sunbeds while pregnant

I was wondering if I could use a sunbed whilst pregnant?
There are no particular hazards in using a sunbed when pregnant, but it's worth bearing in mind that the same risks apply as to anybody who exposes themselves to UV light.
Sunbathing in general can affect you differently while pregnant.
Your skin is more sensitive when pregnant because of your hormones.
The chances of skin cancer are higher.
You may find that your skin is more blotchy or becomes more irritated than normal.
Pregnant women who sunbathe may develop 'chloasma' which is a change in the depth of colour of the skin affecting the face. It usually affects the area around the eyes and over the cheekbones.
A little bit of what you fancy does you good, so a short time on the sun bed to make you feel 'sun-kissed' should do you and your bump no harm at all; just don't overdo it!
Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

NO no no no - it is not safe at all!!! I even had a doctor tell me it is not safe to tan while you are breastfeeding either! I know- tanning is not safe at all for you but definetly not for the baby. Thats why I am so darn pale!!!!:)

Nope and if the place is a good one it'll have a contract for you to sign that says on it too you're not pregnant with a few other disclaimers. I know mine did when I got my minutes then couldn't use them all because I did end up pregnant 2 months later! LOL! At least the minutes keep, where I go anyway.

It most likely isn't recommended to use tanning beds while pregnant. I'm not an expert, but I do know that you don't want to get your body temp too high when you are pregnant, because that can harm the baby. That is why doctors tell you not to take hot baths, sit in a hot-tub, or even work out too hard when you are pregnant. Hope this helps:)

I've never read anything saying a firm yes or no. But here's what I determined for myself; when I was pregnant, my body temperature was crazy. I went tanning in beds for the first couple weeks after finding out, so I was probably about 9 weeks pregnant. My body temperature would escalate a lot faster than normal, and I couldn't tolerate staying in the bed even 5 minutes. I would get out, sit on a chair and just stick my legs in. I decided to stop going because my temperature rose too much. I figured it was like getting in a hot tub. Doctors tell you not to go in hot tubs because your body temp rises too much, and it's bad for the baby.
