ok so heres the thing we have a 22 month old (as of today ) and we just moved about a month ago I was wondering if it was time to move her to a toddler bed.. heres why I ask she will sleep fine in her crib for a nap and she will go down fine at bed time but she wakes up alot during the night my husband will go calm her down but tends to be that she will only calm if they lay on the floor and then she will sleep all night if I get her to put her in the crib she will wake up all the time? she would do this before we moved as well not as often tho so my question is .. is it toddler bed time? is it just because we moved? I am worried about putting her in the bed since I am afraid she will not want to sleep at all or is this just my way of keeping her my baby? she is our youngest and last :(

My son is also 22 months old and I bought him an extra large cot and plan to keep him in it as long as possible! I'm very sure if he's in a toddler bed it won't take him long to work out he can toddle through to mum and dad whenever he wants......so don't worry about babying her. I'm sure she's a little unsettled with the move as well and needs the extra reassurance - i'd stick with the cot a little longer and see if she settles....

We put my daughter in a toddler bed at 24 months. We had her help us put the toddler bed together and used the mattress form her crib. We did leave the crib up in case she need to be put back in it but she never did. We never had room in her room for toys.

Then I would say have both in the room for a little while...then she can switch which one she wants and you can see what she is more comfortable with. She might love it, she might hate it. Kids have a mind of their own and like to confuse us :)

My son was in a toddler bed at 18 months. He loved it and slept really well. He didn't really get out of his bed and run around much at all, and we put a gate on his door so roaming the house wasn't an option. And we took all of the toys out of his room, so there wasn't really anything to be awake for.
I guess my thought is that if sleeping in the crib isn't something she wants to do, it's probably time to take the next step. At this point, it seems that she's sleeping better out of the crib than she is in it.
Put a toddler bed in the room with the crib and let her decide which one she likes. That way she can transition if she needs to.
Good luck :)
