Is my 2 month old nursing too often?

My (almost) 2 month old son likes to nurse every 2 hours; sometimes every 1.5 hours; yet every now and then he can wait 3 hours. I feed him on demand. However, I've noticed he nurses for less time now- he's done in 10 minutes! I wonder if the short feeding time is what is keeping him from going longer between feedings. I'm getting tired of such frequent feedings and I worried about how to handle his feedings when I return to work soon.

Most babies do not sleep through the night at 2 months old. It is much, much more normal to wake to nurse in the night than it is to not. Hang in there!!

There is no such thing as a 2 month old nursing too often. I don't know about handling feedings when you return to work, but my son as an infant would sometimes nurse 3 times in the same hour... so 1.5 hours is certainly not too often.

He seems to be eating like a normal newborn. In the next couple months his schedule will get better.
