Welcome to the terrible twos. Nope, this sounds normal. Rather than trying to put a label on it, you need to instill discipline. 80% of all toddlers display the signs of ADHD. Only about 3% actually are, and it can't be diagnosed at this age. So let's dispense with the labels and focus on discipline. I recommend the following group for some tips:

Tabitha, discipline doesn't have to mean punishment :) You need to reward him when he does the RIGHT things, or he won't understand what he is doing wrong. Remember, our role as parents is to teach and guide them, not just punish them for the wrong thing. If you balance you disciplinary approach, you won't be the "bad parent". But you can't teach right from wrong if you only punish them for doing the wrong thing. Go check out that community we gave the link for and get some tips :)

Just another thought. What is his diet like? There are certain food additives that can make a child a bit more hyperactive than usual. My step-son, for instance, bounces off walls if he has a lot of red food colouring. He is 12 and this STILL happens. So we avoid it as much as possible. I would suggest if he has a lot of foods with artificial colours and flavourings and preservatives, you try to cut these out.

Yep, my 2yo does the same thing, sans holding the breath. It's normal behavior. Jodi is spot on, you shouldn't label. I would also do some research on the milestones of 2 year olds.

He is just being 2.

Although not every 2 year old is like that (my daughter is pretty mellow), I do believe it sounds like pretty average, age appropriate behaviour.
