Twice now I have been contacted by my 7 year old daughters school pertaining to her "shaking" and what seems to them as "having an anxiety attack." They claim she starts to go into a blank stare and starts to shake her hands as if she has no control of it. The first time was because she was sick and the second was because she saw a spider, and she has a terrible fear of bugs.
I feel she has the capability to control it, and that it is her wanting attention. However, when I ask her about it, both times it was followed with, "the feeling of having to get sick (or throw up), and that she had a headache." Do I need to take her to a counselor? Is this anxiety attacks? Please Moms I need advice!

But she certainly could be having panic attacks....even if they are for attention they are real.

I would simply start by bringing her to your pediatrician and seeing what she thinks.
