is my daughters doctor stupid?

my daughter will be 8 months soon she was born at 28wks1day and was 2lbs 12oz 15in and she now weighs 8lbs 13oz and im not sure how long she is her doctor doesnt tell us but she is VERY long he said she is healthy and is ok.... is this normal? should i get second opinion? she was real chunky but still around the weight she is now before she starting getting longer.. shes just so teeny it doesnt seem right?

I'm not sure what you're getting at, Rachel. Are you concerned because she seems to be small, weight wise, or that she seems to be "too long"?

Like Dove said, humans are variable. Your daughter may not have the same physical traits as you did at the same age, especially if she was a preemie, and you weren't.

But, if you're concerned, get another opinion from another doc. :-)

8lbs 13oz for an adjusted age 5 month old is definitely small, but if she is continuing to grow and thrive it could just be her normal. I don't think there is anything wrong with getting a second opinion if you are really concerned, but kids come in all shapes and sizes and I wouldn't automatically jump to the conclusion that your doctor is wrong simply because she is smaller than 'normal'.
