I have a 6 month old baby boy, and I can't help but worry about safety when he grows up. because of all these kids, drink driving and having accidents. and all the dangerous people out there, that attack people for no reason. am I the only mum that worries about that, do any of you mums out there worry about that to? I just can't help but worry, I see so many things on the new. children these days are taking drugs at young ages. getting into all sorts of trouble, like hoping into cars with drink drivers. I just can't help but stress out everyday, I don't ever wanna let go of my son. but I have to one day and I am worried about his safety. I know I seem like a stress head but he is my baby and I can't help but worry.

It's fine to have concerns and I think most parents do. But stressing and obsessing over it isn't going to help anything and, in the long run, may end up harming your son. You could potentially end up with a kid who is scared of everything (due to your worries) or who has zero life experience (due to you keeping him *safe) and then being thrust out into the world with no idea.

You need to relax. Instead of being afraid, be proactive. As he grows up, teach him how to avoid those bad situations, or how to protect himself if those situations arise. And once he's old enough to potentially face those situations, trust in your parenting.
Yes, kids are dumb. They're going to do dumb stuff.
The first lesson in a number of sports (like martial arts, skating, etc) is HOW to fall and how to get back up. You know that they're going to fall. You can't prevent that. But what you CAN do is teach them is to not be afraid to fall (make mistakes), how to handle it when they do, and how to get back up from them and move on.
