Is this a false negative? Could I be pregnant.

My husband and I are trying for our second baby after miscarrying in October. I am keeping track of when I ovulate and having sex on my fertile days. (I am using an ovulation calendar and an at home urine test.) The last time I did this I got pregnant on the first try. (The pregnancy I miscarried)

I am due for my period Wednesday so I took a first response preg test this morning. It came up negative. I don't see how an egg wasn't fertilized! I know I ovulated. I wonder if there is a possibility that this is a false negative and for whatever reason, I am not producing enough HcG for the test to detect. Last time I was pregnant, it detected it 4 days before my period so I don't know what to think. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there still a possibility I might be pregnant?

I am suppose to start my period yesterday or today I am always a 30/31 day cycle but never the exact number. I misscarried on Jan 4th. Been usuing an ovulation calendar and kit, did have intercourse when I was ovulating and after but I took a test yesterday and it was negative. I'm eating everything, slight cramps but SUPER tired and wore out feeling....Should I retest tomorrow or go with the negative result?

With my second pregnancy all the urine tests came back negative, it was only after a blood test that the doctor would believe me. The question you should ask yourself is do you feel pregnant. I know in theory you should have got pregnant but we all know that it isn't that easy.

Wait until after your period should come, then retest.

It can often come up negative that early. The test does not guarantee that it will detect that soon, only that it possibly can. It is certainly possible that you are pregnant. It is equally possible thatyou are not. With my daughter I took the test the earliest it recommended. The line was so faint it was almost non-existant. I had to go to a doctor to confirm.

Thank you everyone for the insight! I got alot of information about this subject that I didn't even think of. My plan was to wait until Weds and see if I miss my period. If I do, then I'll take another test. I suppose every pregnancy is different and just because I got a positive result early last time doesn't mean I would the next time around. having the support and encouragement makes me feel alot better. It's frustrating because we;ve been trying to get pregnant since Aug. I miscarried in October and now I'm playing the waiting game again. My son wasn't planned at all! I was 21 and in an abusive relationship when I found out I was having him. And now that I'm in a really good place, it seems so much harder to make it happen. Funny how that works. And Megan, I really hope I'm not having twins! lol! I love kids but I can not imagine two at once. You must be an amazing woman to still have your sanity intact. : ) lol!

I would wait to see if you start your period. If you do not start your period within a couple of days of when you normally start then take another test and if that is negative and within a week you are still not having a period then make a doctors appointement and request a blood test.

Don't be impatient. Trying for 1 month doesn't guarantee pregnancy. Stressing over it will also make things more difficult. Relax and enjoy each other and wait a couple more weeks to take another test. There is no guarantee they are accurate this soon.

Believe it or not, your chances are only about 30% each monthe to get pregnant with a healthy mother and father, under 35. It takes sometimes 3 days to conceive, then up to another 10 days to implant on the uterus. Only then does the fertalized egg begin to secrete HCG that is detected by a home pregnancy test. It may be just too early for you to test. Hang in there. I, myself am over a week late with 4 negative tests, I know the anticipation!!

There is a chance that you could be, my pregnancy tests came up negative, even after a month of being pregnant!!

A blood test will be more difinitive for you, but if you can you should wait a few days, even a week and try a test again. If you start having actual pregnancy symptoms and still get negatives, go in and request a blood test. I had 20 false negatives with my first child. Trust your intuition.

You could be. I didn't find out I was pregnant with the First Response until it was the day after my period was suppose to start. Just wait a few days and try again. Good Luck.

Oh good luck! If it helps I did 5 home pregnancy tests and they were all negative and I was pregnant with twins! Go to the doctor - don't go by those tests offered in the stores....

chance u are theres a chance you're not. my first 2 pregnancies i miscarried bu tmy hcg levels weren't high enough to let me know i was pregnant for at least a week after i missed my period. next 2 pregnancies i was able to find out the day i missed my period, and my last pregnancy a home test told me i was preg. but the dr. told me i wasn't. i was convinced i was so i had them take blood and it still took another week after that to show up preg. also just because u got preg. right away the first time doesn't mean it will always happen that way. my first 3 pregnancies were accidents and happened when i wasn't even trying, when i got married it took 4 months and we tracked ovulation and everything. my last baby first month of trying and it happened.

it is possible its a false negative some times urine tests dont always responde to the pregnancy hormone so u might be better off with a blood test from a doctor they are alot more sensitive and they check for the hormone alot better x

theres a chance you are pregnant and a chance your not. wait a couple days and take another test. of course just because you have sex when you ovulate doesnt mean you have a 100% chance of fertilization. either way i think its about 50/50 right now. good luck!
