is this a sign?

My son who is 2.5, very verbal! yet can be very strong willed. Anyway he will do this weird little "dance" grab at his diaper ( this all lasts 10-15 seconds) I am thinking he is doing this while he pees. I don't think he has a bladder infection. He doesn't complain of pain, no weird smell or dark color.

Could this be a sign he is ready to potty train? We have been talking about this for the past few months, he is fighting it- actually refuses to even sit on the potty. Won't take off diaper if he thinks he has to sit on potty.

What are the thoughts of the seasoned moms of boys out there?

I read that if you sit them on the potty while they are going with the nappy still on for the first few days it makes the potty less daunting. Making an action that tells you he is going is one of the "signs of readiness" as they call them. The other big ones are: weeing every 2 hours which shows that the muscles can hold on until the bladder is full so the muscles are ready; understanding that things have a place; and able to follow basic instructions.

It never to early to try it out. I have worked with potty training for 6 years for boy i have learned the learn the best when going when dad goes. put the small potty out and ask dad to take him when he goes this show that its safe and as all little kids they want to do what there parents do. A lot of people say don't reward it is truly your choice I believe in it 100% but i only use sticker they are harmless and can come cheep. I use to do a potty paper and we would stick our stickers on it.

I definately think it might be time to potty train! Bring him to the store and let him pick out his own "big boy" pants (undies) If daddy is around, have him start showing him the ropes. Take him into the bathroom with you as much as possible also!
