My son has just entered his "terrible three" stage and in trying to reassess my disciplinary strategies I've noticed something.
My son has not grown attached or fond of anything. He never touches his toys he never leaves the room I'm in unless its to go potty. and even then he wants me to join him and causes a fit when i tell him no. his favorite phrase is "I want you" just to get him to sit at the table and eat and not sit on my lap is a struggle. he HAS to be near me at all times. and keeping him out of the kitchen while i cook is a nightmare.
I've talked to a bunch of people and they've all told me that that is not normal that he has to have something hes attached to a blanket a toy or stuffed animal something to sooth him. and there isn't just me only me. I'm a single mom and hes my only child so I'm basically flying by the seat of my pants right now trying to figure out. Is this normal just slightly rare? is there anyone else out there who has a kid like this?
