Is this the terrible 2's or something more? How do I cope?

Having major issues with my 22 month old son. The fits, screaming, yelling, hitting people and crying is becoming to much. He gets angry when he doesn't get what he wants... angry when I go to see him on my lunch breaks... pulls away from me but the wants me.. uugghhh! Help!

At this stage it probably is just terrible 2's.
He's hit a new phase where he knows what he wants but can't communicate so gets frustrated. He's also started to push his boundaries even more to see what he can get away with.

You need to stay strong and make him aware that this sort of behaviour is not acceptable and there will be consequences for his bad behaviour.

My 4 yr old still behaves like this but he does has behavioural issues.
I ignore the tantrums. When he cries, scream, yells or gets angry he is sent to his room until he has calmed down. If he hits, he is sent to time out until I tell him he can come out, then he has to apologise and mean it or he goes back in. I do the same with my 2 yr old if she does the same, which is rare.

He could be angry at you for leaving him, but he could also be angry that you visit him at lunch time, then leave him again and he doesn't see you until the evening when you pick him up.

I'm guessing that's what it is... his screaming is almost unbearable... you can hear him for blocks! LOL!! Weekends seem to be pretty good but that's because I'm with him all weekend. Week days are trying to say the least. I wonder if he's having a little bit of separation anxiety??? It's almost like he's angry at me when I visit him on my lunch breaks. Screams and yells and throws HUGE fits... it's starting to make me feel bad...
