It Seems Like Too Much Chores.

My 9-year-old daughter has always done chores—since she was 5. But lately she has been complaining of having too much chores and I don't know what to do. I have assigned the following chores to 9-year-old expectations:

1. Loading and unloading the dishwasher
2. Taking the garbage to the garbage chute in our apartment
3. Feeding the fish at morning and night
4. Preparing her lunch for school
5. Making her bed
6. Setting the table twice a day
7. Washing her bedroom windows once a week
8. Cleaning her room

I mean, I know I may have to help her with the window, the fish, and occasionally the lunch, but is this too much for a nine year old? If so, please list appropriate chores for children that age so I can assign them to her. Thank you.

Thank you very much. I found this useful, and I'm glad to here opinions of others, them telling me that they agree or not. Thank you

Maybe you can get a sibling to help her? These seem like appropriate chores for a child at her age. Does she get tired from these chores? Cleaning dishes, sweeping, and mopping is what my 10 YO is able to do - but maybe you can remove some chores and assign new ones.
Her age is an appropriate age to have chores now.
