They do, but we're trying to break the cycle of yelling and spanking that we both grew up with. I was abused physically growing up, and his parents yelled alot, and we dont want to do that with our kids, so we are trying alternative punishments. I am consistent, but it seems like when I sit down to feed my 6 month old, my 3 year old just has to find something to do that is wrong. Time outs work for about 30 seconds. My 5 year old isnt nearly as bad, and she's getting better as she matures, but its my younger one that is really frustrating me. He's at the age where picking up his toys is 'too hard', and he just HAS to have someone help him, whereas my daughter will go do it no problem. I think the problem lies mainly with the fact that for the 2 years before I met my husband, my kids were in daycare when I worked (3-11 at a nursing home). We've been together a year, and in some ways I think my son is still adjusting. Im not sure really how to correct this. Some days Ds will listen really good, but most days he doesnt, and I guess I get easily frustrated. I dont know if this is making alot of sense, my brain is jumbled right now. Its barely 10am and Ive already had my son in timeout twice
