Johnson's Lavender Baby Bath

We've been bathing my 10 week old granddaughter in J&J's lavender bath every evening for a few weeks now. She loves it, and it settles her right down. But she has developed rough skin patches all over her body and we're thinking it might be an allergic reaction to the bath product. It's possible we've inadvertently used too high a concentration of product to the water - because she's still bathed in one of those baby tubs - but we're stopping the J&J for now and only using plain warm water to see if it helps. I posted another thread and was going to update it - but they closed the thread and I can't edit my reply! So I will come back to this thread and let you know how things progress. Just wanted other Moms and Grandmoms to know this could be an issue for little ones.

A baby that young only requires a bath every few days unless they really soil themselves. The soap is stripping the natural skin oils causing the skin to dry out.

If you're bathing her in it every night, it might just be severely dry skin patches. Using soap every day is not needed for a baby and they loose moisture from their skin much much faster than we do. Good luck grandma!
