I am a young mother and found out at birth my child has hemophilia. Just wondering if there were any moms out there with some advice on how to cope with the worries and maybe some advice on baby proofing for them!

my cousin's baby has hemophilia. She stays home with him because she's afraid of day care. As for safety proofing the house. It depends on what severity your baby has. My cousin's baby was initially mild and now tests confirm he is severe. She has put rubber guards on everything but you still have to be very careful because even a bump could lead to bleeding inside the area. She watches him like a hawk. I know I worry about my kids all the time and they don't have any conditions. It's normal to fear for your child especially with hemophilia. All I can saw is that maybe you will grow more accostumed to your life and eventually calm down a bit. Have you looked into mom groups? There are all kinds of support groups for various illnesses etc. Maybe you could team up with another mom where your son gets treatment (if any). Ask your pedi or specialists.  Good luck, your baby is beautiful.
