Keeping kids out of fridge

I've just read a post about putting a scary mask inside the fridge, what a great idea will give that one a go!

The best we found was an old push bike inner tube, the kids didn't have the strength to lift it up or down to open the door! But being a tad precious with my nice new stainless steel fridge I won't do that as there are some light scuff marks left!

Good luck to anyone with the same problem I spend most of my time pulling and assortment of kids from the fridge or cleaning ants up from the sticky melted ice cream on the floor!

My kids have never climbed in the fridge... ever. My 6 year old does climb on the counter NEXT to the fridge in order to get something out of the freezer though. ;)

What it takes then is to teach them that climbing in the fridge is wrong and can cause them to get hurt badly depending on the shelf's contents and what it is made of such as glass. You need to set the rules on this. And give conseqences when needed. I am all for kids being able to get healthy snacks but they should be asking you and not just doing what they want.

I have 2 boys and a girl and none of the kids have ever climbed in the fridge. They know that it's wrong.
Maybe I'm just lucky that the only furniture my kids climb on is the couch.

Half your luck! It's not eating the contents that bothers me they are blessed with a great metabolism and we do have mostly healthy contents it the climbing up the last fridge they broke the bottom shelf by putting weight on it! With 3 boy's watching all the time is just not possible and they'll send me broke

I have never had to keep my kids out of the fridge either, they know they have to ask before they get something to eat.
I also have kids on the lower weight scale so I'm the same as Amy.

I don't keep my kids out of the fridge it's filled with healthy snacks that they can help themselves too. But then again both my kids are on the lower end of the weight percentages so I encourage them to eat more.
