How much time (not too much/too little) should a 7, 9 and 10 yr old be expected to spend on chores daily? Weekly? Dishes and Folding are the only tasks that can take a 1/2 hour or so. Often, but not always, there are complaints chores in my house.

Those kids are old enough to do a few chores a day from cleaning rooms, to making sure their clothing is in the hamper for laundry, dishes, folding clothing, picking up toys, sweeping, vaccuming, mopping, taking out trash, care of pets if there are any, dusting, putting away groceries. It depends on how you approach it and how you make it sound. If you make it sound fun and act as it is fun, it might help your kids not complain so much. Kids need a few chores a day to learn how to do things for when they grow up. Your ten year old is eight years away from being on his or her own.
