My son sleeps through the night and has since he was 2 months old, he is now 4 months. So because he doesn't wake up through the night I get engorged and leak everywhere!!!! How do I control this? I have tried two nursing pads, getting up in the night and changing it, I have even tried diapers we don't use for extra absorbing, so far everything works some nights and not others. I am tired of doing so much laundry please help!

If I were you I would express some milk and pop it in the freezer! Make the most of all that milk and keep some for later! If you just take off maybe 30ml or so, that should be enough to stop the leaking. I used the Pigeon Ultra Slim Breast Pads from the supermarket, have you tried those? I found them great. My daughter slept from 10pm-7am from 1 month old and I never had a problem. You obviously have a lot of milk and to tell you the truth I would rather have too much than not enough.
Get yourself a pump (you can hire them from some chemists) and some breast milk freezer bags (Medela brand available from Target) and build up a store.

I had the same problem after I had my son. He was sleeping 12 hrs a night from a few weeks old and I would leak every where, have to change pjs and bed sheets and have a shower coz I was wet and sticky.
He would have a feed around 6.30pm then be in bed by 7pm. I would have to express around 9-9.30pm because I was leaking again and then some nights I would be up in the early hours because I was that engorged it was really painful.
I was one of the lucky ones that went into overkill with the milk production

Thank you! Now at 4 months he isn't sleeping through the night. We recently just moved home and I am hoping that he just isn't use to being at my parents house.

I wouldn't offer him a dream feed if he is sleeping through the night!! Going backwards...

Have you tried offering a dream feed before you go to bed, that's what I did if I got home from work after my daughter was asleep.

Yeah, you're right, if you pump you will make more, but if you just take the edge off hopefully things will settle down, although I am surprised they haven't already! A bit of trial and error and you should be albe to work out the least you can take off each side and not leak. I know how you feel, it is horrible and sitcky isn't it? Your son must be in a good paddock :)
I hope you find something that works. 5 mins of expressing during the night might be the best you can do...

Carly- I will have to look for those pads, I have tried different ones and though they say super on them they aren't very super! I have a pump but was told if I keep pumping I will keep making. I am very great full that I have not had a problem with producing, as my son is about 18 lbs right now. I was pumping a little prior to me going to bed which is usually a couple hours after my son, I think I might have to go back to that.
