Leaving toddler to go on vacation

I am a stay at home mom to a 2 1/2 year old. We are very close and have a great relationship, he is very attached to me. My husband have been married for 10 years and have never really taken a vacation. We now have the opportunity to go to hawaii for 8 days. My son has stayed with his grandparents for a few days before and stays over night at least once a month, they see him 3 times a week and my mom watches him once a week for a couple hours. He would stay with his grandparents while we are gone. But I feel so guilty leaving him for 8 days but everyone says he'll be ok. I'm afraid he will be upset and miss me and I'm worried it would change our relationship. Would you do it?

Hello Nicole,

I have a daughter who is 17 she had a beautiful baby girl when she was 15, I know so young, but I promised I would stand beside her no matter what if you know what I mean, she kept the baby her name is Payton and I can not imagine my life without her in it.

Recently my daughter went to Florida to help her older sister who is pregnant and is having a hard time keeping up with her two daughters who are 3 and 1 1/2 years old. Payton stayed home with me, oh they both missed each other it broke my heart but if you have a laptop you can take with you, and the grandparents have a computer with a camera you could Skype. It really did make a lot of difference my daughter and granddaughter Skype every day when Payton came home from daycare.

And I promise you your son will not forget you that kind of unconditional love is a bond that is hard to break.

I hope my suggestion help.
