I am a step grandmother, my step daughter had a baby and she lives with us now. She parties all the time she leaves the baby for me to raise. I take care of the baby when she is at work when she is sleeping and even when she is home and awake. I pay for food diapers, medicine and toys and any other essentials the baby may need. The baby thinks I am his mother. My step daughter has no feelings, so it seems for this baby. She is very selfish and only thinks of herself first. If one of her friends calls and wants her to go out with them she is gone in a second. When the baby was first born she was breast feeding him but also giving him formula I convinced her to just bottle feed the baby because he was not getting enough food. She would feed him for 15 mins on the right breast then say that is enough. Later I found out that my step daughter was sleeping all day because she was taking the baby out all night with her when she partied with her friends. Because of sleeping all day the baby would go 9 hours without a feeding. Then I found out that when she lived with her mother she was putting the babies bottles under her bed and not cleaning them, she would just reuse them to feed the baby again with. Needless to say the baby ended up with thrush. There is so much more to say but not enough time in a day taking care of a baby full time. I want to know about legal guardianship in michigan and how hard is it to get? I am so afraid for this baby. She does not care what happens to him, she will let anyone take him and she does not give it a second thought. Please someone help me I am not sure where to turn or what to do. My husband and I are so worried and afraid if we do something legal she will take the baby and run now that she is living with us. What should we do?
