I need some advice from other mommies who have bottle fed their babies. How do I know when to switch my little bug to the next level nipple?? She's 6 weeks and takes 45 to 50 min to finish her bottle, which is 5-6 oz. but then when I give her thelevel 2 nipple she slobbers all mover herself. Help please!

Really?? I can only imagine the panic! My LO freaks if her food is not available immediately! As for the nipple flow, I think the number 1 flows fast enough. I think i'll give it a few more days and see how it goes

I think the formula is thicker when you change from newborn to 1stage. If she is falling asleep i would say maybe rather change to size 2. Lol i remember going on a long road drive and i made the mistake and only took a size 1 with instead of the size 2..the formula was too thick to get through the one hole so i ended up biting an extra hole into the nipple. Try changing to size two,i believe they are for 1-3 months old. Have you checked if the formula comes out of the size one well?

Yes we're using Avent. It seems that with the newborn nipple (1hole) she falls asleep and gets frustrated. But then with the next size up she eats to fast and makes a huge mess. I guess she'd be happy somewhere in between lol.

If she slobbers and starts making a coughing/choking sound with the 2 then its still too early. If i remember right we changed to number 2nipple when our son was 2months-3months old. You will realize they get too tired to suck and get fussy because they are hungry when the nipple hole is too small. Then try using the next size. Are you using Avent nipples?
