I have was sick last night and i am still feeling sick today my bump has been tighening and my lower back pain comes and goes slowly i have been having looser bowel movements (sorry tmi) i saw my midwife at 36 weeks and she doesnt want to see me again till 40 weeks so just wondered what peoples opinions are could this be early labour or just braxton hicks? thank you

It sounds like early labor to me. Those are braxton hicks contractions, your body is preparing for labor. And the loose bowel movements are normal by the way. It is your bodies natural way of clearing your bowels before labor. It happened with all 3 of mine! Keep in mind though, just because you are feeling these early labor symptoms, this doesn't necessarily mean you will go into real labor tomorrow. With my 3rd, I experienced the tightening's in my belly and lower back for 3 weeks. Good luck, and don't stress or overthink things, that will slow it down!

Try taking a warm bath to see if that alleviates the Braxton hicks. Generally this will cause them to go away or increase. If they don't go away then try to drink and possibly eat. If your uterus is dehydrated if can act up. If after all that then you can probably assume your in prelabor. Don't panic just continue doing normal activities and staying relaxed. If your having back pain you may want to try getting on your hands and knees to see if that helps. Baby could possible be turned causing this pressure. Lastly call your midwife that's what she's there for, trust your instinct. She will have good advice for you and know your pregnancy best
