oh almost forgot... cold refrigerated celery works wonders for teething. keep the strings in and they cant really get much in their mouth but really enjoy chewing on it. Also it is a very geltle food with almost no nutrition other than a little vitamin C. Just cold and refreshing!

I place an ice cube in my daughters. It soothes, and it drys without a mess. Be cautious to run a little water over it before you give it to them, just to make sure it doesn't do that "sticky thing". (Can't think of the proper term for that)

Apple, watermelon, anything hard he can chomp on or suck the juice out of. I would not recommend banana!!! And actually I'm not sure you should start solids. Did your daughter/son say he is eating solid food? Wet frozen washcloths work really well.

I use one for my daughter and I have used watermelon, rockmelon and banana etc...I find the banana to be nice and soft for their little gums however very messy to clean!! I invested in one that i have found replacement bags for..so much easier!
