I have been one of those crazy parents that has attempted doing research for schools for my kids since my first was only 6 months of age. I feel when I was growing up my parents were not bad but knew no better. So for this I made some bad choices of action with education. Felt no one was interested involved so why should I care. Well having 3 Girls and Now 1 Boy. I want to be involved and make certain the school they are on is involved in making their students progress, educate and graduate. In all honesty now that my oldest is in VPK at the end of this year she will enter a school. No longer a head start VPK but a school. So how do you know which one? What type of schooling environment is the best for them in the long run? Private school is expensive and price keeps rising. Magnet schools seem super cool because parents have to be involved and kids are made responsible for their grades, work and school as much as a parent are responsible to be involved. Public school atleast in my area has declined and become dangerous anymore and makes me turn away pretty quickly but some stick by it and say it is all about what you teach your kids. But they are in school quite a few hours a day and alot through out the year. So with this much influence? Then I recently found out there is a thing called charter school. It is an open learning plan. They stick to standards but teach it in nontraditional ways...So how do you know and how do you find out or compare??
