My lower stomach is still numb after my c-section. How long does this usually last? I am a bigger woman and have started working out about a month ago. It makes working out a little strange sometimes.

Interesting!
I had my very first child via csection and its going on 3 weeks and I have no feeling on the lower part of my tummy I could pinch it and I still can't fill it. Since it is my first I didn't know it it was normal or what till I read this now I know I'm not alone thanks everyone :)

Hi I had a c-section a year ago in May and  still have the numbness just above my scar.  I am bigger also and haven't done alot of working out maybe that helps.

I had a c-section and had the same kind of numbness. I asked my doctor and he said that when they cut you they have to cut through the nerves too and that I would eventually get some feeling back, but nothing close to what it was before. Hope this helps!

I have had 2 c-sections, and I don't want to worry you, but, I am now approaching 50 and still have numbness strangly though it is above the belly botton. I was told by my Doctor, way back then, that the numbness would onlly last 1 year. So I am hoping for you it lasts not longer than a year. Good luck....:)

I had 2 c-sections and have numbess in my outer thighs as well as my lower stomach. Can't scratch at those blasted itches as no feeling on outside. Still have it after nine years but have learnt to live with it.

This is such an interesting thread! I've had 3 c-sections and am about to have my 4th...and I've never noticed prolonged numbness! Just had to say that I found that quite interesting:-)

I've had 2 c-sections also. My youngest is almost 8mths old now. I've regained most of the feeling around the scar area but there is still a residual "dullness" of sensation above the scar on my belly area.

I have also had 2 c-sections.  The area around my scar was numb for about 6 months to a year.  It's been 22 yrs since my first c-section and the feeling over my scars is dull.  You have to remember that a c-section is major surgery and they cut through several layers.... including nerves... it takes a while for everything to heal.

Mine only lasted about 2 months.  Once I was able to start walking and working out, it started fading.
