Lying 12 year old?

I have 4 kids and they are all one year older then each other. April (14), Alana (13), Allina (12) and Ally (11).

So recently my girls could their term 3 reports and I was extremely worried about Allina's.
On her report it said that Allina was very chatty in the classroom and loved to talk about her poodle, Grace.
Most people probably think its awesome that Allina got good feedback from the teacher, but it turns out she has been lying. I mean, we don't have a poodle!
I'm extremely disappointed in her, because I've always taught me girls to speak the truth and to never lie. At the moment I'm not sure what I should do. Should I tell Allina that I found out she'd been lying? Should I let her keep this up? Should I tell her teacher that its not true?
Please help with this problem, I am very worried.
Jordan =)

I agree with Jodi, why would a teacher say what a child has been talking about in a school report, usually it's just about how a child is performing academically.
I also don't see her getting suspended for what she has said. It hasn't really harmed anyone, just made her look a bit silly.

That's an odd thing for a teacher to write in a school report. I'm a teacher, and school reports aren't about letting the parents know the topics of conversation the children have with the teacher. They are about how they are doing academically and what they could do to improve.

Suspended for lying about the family dog that doesn't exist? You really don't know much about the school system, do you?

I think I will tell her teacher but I really don't want her to get suspended for lying to a teacher..
