Hi everyone, I need major help... I'm going for surgery at the end of September and my 3 old always wants me to sleep with her in her bed, after surgery I'm going to unable to do that, further more I want to stop doing it anyway...its just getting out of control. Our routine ends up lasting for an hour, before I leave the room...I know mostly my fault for letting it happen, but I just can seem to get a back bone...I can only handle her crying for so long then I feel guilty, and give in...nothing I seem to do is working. Please if anyone has any ideas of how I can wean her that would be great.
Thanks
Christina

Have a star chart. Easy to make. Give her a "big girl" star every night she sleeps without you getting in bed. Then after 7 stars give her a treat. "Special mummy and big girl time" ie make cookies together. Paint her toenails. Read her favourite books. Watch a movie/DVD and eat pop corn together. Going to hospital is not relevant so why worry her. You said yourself you want to stop. She will be fine. Good luck x
