I would take a weekend and make up 3 or 4 different types of food, you have the advantage of trying different combos and spice (my sons fav was pumpkin apple talk about healthy and antioxidant filled!) I liked the ice cube trays because I could empty them into plastic bags and just take out as many cubes as he typically ate in a feeding (since he has always been a big eater)
I found the icesubes in bags also took up less freezer space then containers do

We just used a food processor, the baby food things we tried did not work. It is super easy and we really enjoyed it. We grew our own garden too, so we felt really good about what we fed our kids and they both eat anything now, 3 & 5, I just hope it continues!!

I use a mini food processor for small amounts, it's an old Kenwood one from my student days, for larger amounts I just use our standard food processor which is a cheap and cheerful own brand one.
I batch cook my son's food to save me time. I have a load of v small food saver tubs some take 1oz and some take ~2.5 ozs and I freeze his food in them, saves emptying out cubes of frozen food from ice cube trays.

i just used a hand wizz one, i'd have a 'cook up ' once a week and steam all differend veggies, wizz em up and freeze em all in ice block cubes when they were first starting out and bigger containers as they got older
i found using the hand wizz thingy was so much easier to clean and use than a food processor...
