My family are against massaging a baby. They say it's not necessary. But I have learnt and heard from my grandparents that massaging improves their muscle strength.so m confused whether to or not to massage? Please suggest

It does not work to improve strength but can be very helpful in relaxation. is it necessary? No. It is useful? Yes. Will you and your baby both enjoy a nice massage? Absolutely. Warm blanket, naked or diapered baby and warm lotion...who wouldn't enjoy that?

It does help the body to relax but not like strengthen the muscles I believe. But obviously good effects on your overall health. No harm in doing it.That's why we have massage centers here in USA and they are pretty expensive, because it gives your muscles and nerves relaxation after the hard work we take from our bodies.
If your baby has started walking ,at night if you massage his legs and the rest of the body he will sleep good and relaxed.

I would do it. I always did after bathing my son,it helps relaxing and the oil kept his skin nice and smooth.
