I have broken out in full body hives and it has been 2 days and I couldnt stand the itching and welts so I went to physician. Well I was given a decadron/kenalog injection and also prednisone pill 2x/day for 5 days. I was told I can not breastfeed during this time. I'm not an efficient pumper and have been struggling with milk production as it is. My OB said he doesn't see why I cant nurse, his pediatrician said they dont know as my OB, the other doctor said atleast 1 week and the pharmacy said wait 12 days. Does anyone have a clue? I'm finding conflicting research online. Any help would be great! Also has anyone broken out in hives from BF?

any typess of medications can pass through your breastmilk i would try to pump for at least a week and supplement with formula as long as your stimulating your breasts youll still produce i deff wouldnt feed your baby tho till ur meds are out of your system
