Also if you haven't had his hearing checked, you should do that too. And contact the specialist who diagnosed him, and ask what you're options for interventions are. I'm really surprised they didn't give you any information on what to do next.

You can't really medicate Autism. You need to carry on his therapy at home. He needs more intervention than 1 or 2 sessions a week. You can't expect them to do it all on their own. Anything that happens in therapy should be reinforced at home. Is he in preschool? The preschool my daughter was in really helped her.

Have you tried a gluten free autism friendly diet? This can make all the difference!

He needs a routine, a schedule. He needs to know what his day will be and needs to stick to that schedule. He probably needs more than 1-2 times a week with his therapist.
The only medications you could get him on would be antidepressants or anti-psychotics....and those will turn him into a zombie. That's really not fair to him.

It seems like you might be new to this diagnosis, so here's a few places to start:

Sorry, but there's just no 'quick-fix' medication for Autism.

Good luck to you.

He is going to therapy 1-2 times a week. It only helps when he is there n when he is home he is all over the place.

No I haven't..he was just diagnosed 4 months ago and they left me clueless. He does have a primary dr but she doesn't specialize in autism. He is screaming all the time and is hyper 24/7 I can't stand being in the room with him because he is so loud in over the top. I just wanna know if anyone has a specialty in a specific medicine.

In my opinion the best "medicine" for autism is therapy. Find an autism specialist and get the ball rolling.
