I have a 10 year old son with Down Syndrome, he also has an ASD, he has always been a pretty good sleeper up until the last couple of months, has anybody had any experience with the natural hormone Melatonin for their childs bad sleeping habits, one night last week he was up until 4 in the morning, then had to be up a few hours later to get him to school, when he gets into bed he starts this silly cackling laugh which in itself drives us crazy !!! HELP !!!

You should really talk to your child's doctor about this and see what he or she says before giving this. You need to take into consideration of any other meds your child might be on that might be affected by this natural remedy. You also need to address the issues that go with this sleep behavior he has been showing you. You have to be careful of giving anything to a child no matter of special needs or not. You do not know how your child will react to this remedy. Just my advice. I did not give either of my children meds until I cleared it with a doctor first.
