Well I am not sure how to word this a 100%. Other then have any other woman gotten prego while on merina.. As i am not a 100% sure that i am at this time but i am having many things telling me that i am. I took a test and it was void.. {nothing came up} which it should have at least given a neg. or pos. result so i thought. Guess i am just wondering if any one else has or had this same issue. Any adivce will be helpful.

P.S. I do plan on going to see a doctor on monday, just looking to see if any one else has/had this problem while on merina..

Thank you and Best wishes

Andrea

Should also add that my son just turned 3 in Sept. and My Daughter will be 2 in march, so i have had the merina for almost 2 years. To be honest it will be 2 years on May 30 2011. Thank you.

A little update.. I will be having my IUD removed ASAP.. As i have done so major research i have found many women who have gotten prego while on it and have had to have surgery to remove it. I am not will to risk a baby's life nor my own. I have went through a very high risk prego once before with my daughter.. I am not willing to put another child in danger. After reading some of the research it could be life threating to me as well to the baby.. I am not sure if i am prego or not but will find out when i go in to have this THING removed...

Amelia, I have checked the string. I have kind of made a habit to check them once a week. The problem is i know that the IUD can move and repostion its self. That is my biggest fear. After having my son my uterus tilted, then it tilted even more after having my daughter. The thing that scares my husband and myself is that our daughter was born at 36 weeks with Gastroschisis {all her insides where outside her little 3lbs body} so we are taking all of that in to count. As we know the risk and danger to becoming prego while on the IUD. I just am a little worried of what could go wrong. My grandma had this happen with her last daughter she had so makes little worried. Would have been nice to have known a little more before we decided on the IUD because i would have thought a little different on it and would just went back on my depo shot.. But yes i do plan on going to the doctor. Have to call tomorrow and see when i can get it... Thank you for the help... Glad to know that it can happen and has happened before.

Although it is really uncommon, one of my mom's friend's got pregnant with a mirena IUD. Seeing a doctor is your best bet but I'm sure you know that. Have you checked for the strings to make sure it is still in?

I am sorry Kate as i wasn't thinking when asking the question.. As i was trying to figure out what was going on and also handling a issue with my daughter.. She was born with Gastroschisis.. {insides were outside body} So i was just quick typing.. Sorry didn't mean to offend you by any means.. I once again would like to say again that i am very sorry...

Well I'm glad you found my post funny. All that information would have been good to know BEFORE I responded to you.

Thank you Kate but i think i am a little past the Homone Fluctuation stage as i am going on 2 years with it and have had not problems with it since having it put in place.. I know that I got a crappy test as i had my hubby pick one up. So i didn't have to take my 3 year old son and 2 year old daughter out in the crappy weather we were having.. But i would like to thank you for your input...

If the test was void that just means the test was invalid and you need to take another test. Just means you got a crappy test, really. Some women have gotten pregnant while on mirena but it is rather uncommon. Most women report pregnancy like symptoms shortly after getting the mirena but usually they end up being just hormone fluctuations.
