My daughter was born with metopic craniosynostosis. She was born in 14/01/2014. She had a surgery when she was six months old. We are now in position to decide whether she should have a second operation as the triangular shape has returned. The second surgery will be for cosmetic reasons from what they told us. We are worried how she will react as now she is 2 2/12. We do not know how we should explain to her the process as well as the fact that she will not be able to see for a couple of days. We are worried also if she will remember as well as how her phsycology will be after the operation.
Anybody with the same dilema? Nobody can tell me how she would look when she will be a teenager or a 20 years old woman and if her appearance will cause any psycological problems. It is an extremely difficult decision as the operation will be only for cosmetic reasons. I would appreciated it if you can help me, if you had similar experience. Thanks.
