We just found out today we're having a girl!!! Yay!! I've always wanted the name Brooklynn (somewhat after my middle name Brooke) but I'm not sure for a middle name. Only thought of a few. Any suggestions?! Thanks!

I love RAE! It's my middle name too. It's my father's initials Russell Allen E.. I think it flows very nicely with Brooklyn! And it's definitely not overused!

I love the name you picked, how about Dawn, or Kayt, I love these names, my Daughter is Joy Lynn, and sons were Lance Lee, and Jason Lars, so not simple but pure names.

Middle names are helpful for two reasons - first, if the child grows up not to like their first name, they then have the option of using their middle name instead (my cousin Bertha Louise has never gone by Bertha - outside of close family, I doubt that anyone even knows, except now all of you...)
second, when doing genealogy research, it comes in handy if you have lots of ancestors with the same first name - there are EIGHT Jerusha's in my family tree some of them in the same generation.
I believe when naming a child, you should give it the 'voice test' - try saying the full name out loud at the top of your lungs as though you are calling for the child in a crowded noisy place - then try saying it as though you are furiously scolding the child, next try saying it with affection, well - you get the idea.... you will be saying that name for the rest of your life, so make sure it is something you love, whatever anybody else says.

I dont believe in middle names, my late Father had 3 christian names and always said you only need the name you are called by. My Husband has 2 christian names and also only want our children to have 1 each, so Rhys and Casey do not have middle names nor does my Grandaughter Scarlett.

I love the name Brooklynn!!! I would suggest Michelle or even Nicole.. Both are strong names..

What will her last name start with? My dad wanted Serena O____ (last name started with S) so it would have been SOS as my initials. My mom won that fight and I got SFS. Something cool like that is pretty neat when she is signing her initials. So say her last name will start with a C (I'm assuming from your last name)...let's say Brooklynn Ilene Crandall so initials would be BIC...for Bic lighter..."Brooklynn's the light of my life". That's what I do if I can't find a good middle name. My son's name is from my first name (Sean and Serena) and my middle name is similiar in spelling to my mother's middle name. Stuff like that is cool to me but I'm kinda wierd that way too. LOL (And if we have another child and it's a girl...my hubby's name is Mark and if we have a girl, her name will be Mara.)

Brooklynn Shalee ... or however you would like it to be spelled. some pronounce it (SHAY-LEE) and some pronounce is (SHUH-LEE)

Congratuations - my baby girl is the best thing that ever happened to me! She was married last June! I adore her! Brooklynn is a beautiful name!! Please spell it with one "n" though. My name is different, and I can't ever find it on anything .... I've always hated that! I love having a different name, but it would be nice to find it on a key chain, stationery, or a magnet, etc. I named my daughter something that you find everywhere [Nicole (Nikki)], and we love that we find it on everything! My suggestion for a middle name would be Marie or Maree.

Bridge - that's what she'll get whatever middle name you give her, so you might as well go with it.

My Daughter is Brooklynn Kay! And I've had a lot of compliments on it.....She was suppose to be Brooklin Kay...Her Dad wanted it spelled with an i instead of like the bridge in N.Y......but when we got both the birth cerificate and her SS # they spelled it Brooklynn Kay....so we need to change it but haven't.....Part of me still wants to name it like the bridge or city in N.Y. because they make shirts and purses ect. and stuff with "Brooklyn" on it....and she notices it and say's Hey that's my name!!! And we now have a "Brooklyn's Pizza" restruant down the street now! So....The Kay is both her Grandmothers middle names...so that was easy! And my Mom passed away almost 10 years before my daughter now 6 was born so.....good luck! : )

How about Rae? I think you need a one syllable middle name since the first name has two syllables.

I think Brooklynn Elizabeth and Brooklynn Rae is very pretty. Brooklyn by itself is very pretty. You don't have to have a middle name. Try out some other family members names.

How about Brooklynn Rose or Brooklynn Noel?

If our next child were to be a girl, my husband and I have already decided on Laura for a first name, after my husband's late sister. We were not sure of a middle name either until I read in a magazine about a couple who blended the names of the parents to get a name for their child. Their names were Keith and Lynn and came up with Keilynn. My husband's middle name is Keith and my middle name is Lyn (only one 'n') so that was awesome! We liked Laura Keilyn. It might be worth a try to play around with your and your husband's names (first and/or middle) to come up with a unique and appropriate middle name!

What about the name of a flower or a jewel for the middle name like Brooklynn Rose or Brooklynn Violet or Brooklyn Pearl? I also like Brooklynn Grace. Good luck and congratulations, girls are a lot of fun.

Hi, we actually pondered the name Brooklynn, because my middle name is Lynn, however we couldn't seem to find a perfect fit for a middle name, it just seemed too much. So we separated the two....we named our daughter Brooke Lynn. :)

Bridge? heh heh Just kidding.

Your last name? (maiden name) Any good middle names in the family?
Brooklynn Jane
Brooklyn Margaret
Brooklynn Ann
Brooklynn Mary
Brooklynn Rae
Brooklynn Sara

Some last name examples: Brooklynn Smith, Brooklynn Kelly, Brooklynn Tonkin
You get the idea. I love names that have some kind of personal attachment.

[deleted account]

Brooklyn Grace was a good one.
I like Brooklyn Jane, Brooklyn Taylor, Brooklyn Day, Brooklyn Joyce, Brooklyn Alexandra, Brooklyn Bryce? (Ron Howard, the director, has a daughter named Bryce. I love that name) Brooklyn Shane, Brooklyn Baylee

That's a cool name I think a lot of things would go well with it and with your last name. I can't help thinking "Brooklyn Dodgers". LOL I'm an old baseball fan, though so I'm sure most people won't be thinking that.
