I just got an "official diagnosis" of mild intellectual disability for my 15 year old son. I'm really having a hard time with it because reality hit me. Is there anyone out there who have experienced this? I would love to hear how you dealt with it and how your child is doing. My son can read at a third grade level and does math at a little higher level than that. He is in HS in regular classes with inclusion support. He's really struggling. At home, he just wants to sit and watch tv. I can't get him motivated. He seems very bored. Any ideas? Thank you all.
