For any of the moms who have stated that their milk "dried up"... how did you know this had happened? Was it a diagnosis or did it just seem like your child was unsatisfied. I always see that phrase and never quite understood the basis. With my first I thought my milk was insufficient after 2 months and my mother (who had nursed 5) said that was the way sometimes and I had to nurse more often and not supplement. I went on to nurse 4 kids to nearly 2 years old each on her advice and never supplemented. I am aware that it is possible for the milk to not 'come in' or be insufficient even with increased nursing so I am wondering if it's a doctor's words or the assumption of the mom. Not intending to offend, just trying to understand.

Healthy nursing tea was the one that helped and boosted my low milk flow with maximum output.

I noticed with my own kids (the later 2, I have 4) that my breasts were smaller than before but produced as much milk, just that the let downs only happened when I was nursing rather than randomly as with the first 2. Once I have weaned, the milk diminishes and stops producing, that I understand. What I don't understand is where the milk dries up for some women while they are actively are trying to nurse and what doctors say the cause is OR if it is that it seems diminished and 'dried up' is the assumption even though the milk is still producing. Hope that clarifies.

I nursed my Boy for a month, then found myself unable to find the time to continue. so after about a week I noticed my breast were a little smaller and softer & I wasn't even leaking any more so I concidered myself to be dried up, correct???? hope this helps
