I just wanted to add a bit of info to the Mirena topic. I had mine removed today (I've had it for 3.5 years; I have had 2 c-sections).
I have a high tolerance for pain. Let me tell you that my experience was awful! I have a "small cervix" ( do you tell a doctor thanks or apologize when she tells you this? I'm not sure what the etiquette is 😁). My threads were visible and she said the IUD was stuck. I told her she could give me to tools and leave the room, but it was coming out regardless..she had to get what she called "a brush" (I didn't look..). I didn't feel yanking or tugging; I felt like someone was beating the poo out of me!! The Mirena is out. I actually feel like I've lost a billion pounds because the pressure is gone now!! So far, no bleeding. I was given pill to take until my Essure is implanted.
