I was supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant when I went in for an ultrasound (dating ultrasound... no issues in the pregnancy at this point) and found out that the baby quit developing at 6 weeks. I had an appointment very shortly after that and they let me know that I could try and wait to miscarry on my own, but that if it didn't happen w/in a couple of weeks I would need to come in for a D&C. I believe that was on a Friday and that Monday I started bleeding so heavily that I was hospitalized immediately and had the D&C the next day.

You really need to be seen as soon as possible and have all of this explained to you. Whether or not you have the money is not as important as your health and not getting this taken care of can endanger you health, ability to have more children, and even your life.

I had almost exactly the same when I miscarried. I was supposed to be 11 weeks but when I started spotting the ultrasound measured 7 weeks. There wasn't a heartbeat either. I was booked in the next day for a D&C because my body wasn't completing the miscarriage on it's own.
I'm sorry but it sounds like you have miscarried and medical intervention is needed to prevent infection and further complications.
I went on to have 3 healthy children so all is not lost. If you don't get it seen to though you could harm your chances of having further pregnancies so get it seen to ASAP!

Your doctor or the ER should have answered these questions for you. What I can say is that, at 13 weeks "pregnant" the gestational age of the fetus should be around 9-12 weeks. This is because they don't know exactly when you conceived, so they begin "pregnancy" from your last period, and not from conception or implantation. A heartbeat should be heard around 5-7 weeks (~4 weeks after conception). And your HGC levels should be upwards of 30,000. I'm sorry to say, since they can't find a heartbeat, and you've been bleeding, and HGC is so low, it's very likely you have miscarried. The doctors may be waiting for your body to expel the tissue on it's own (which could take weeks), instead of doing a D&C. But they really should have communicated to you what was happening and what your options are. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Your OB cannot legally refuse to treat you if you cannot pay. That is the law. Your fetus has no heartbeat, your HCG is too low to support a pregnancy, you are bleeding, and the fetus has not grown. That all indicates that this pregnancy is not viable. The fact that you are not passing clots, is an indication that your body is not ridding itself of the remains and you likely will need a D&C. Call your OB back and tell them what is going on. If you do not complete the miscarriage either spontaneously or surgically; you can develop an infection and wind up very sick. I don't know what more you want to be told. This is very sad, and I an so sorry to be blunt. You need to see your OB. Pronto.

I'm confused as to why, if the hospital found no heartbeat and you were measuring at 7 weeks instead of 11 weeks, they did nothing about it in the first place. Where I live, they generally would have at least discussed with you about doing a D&C. I highly doubt this was a miscarriage if your bleeding was not super heavy and most likely clotting (aside from the fact that you would be expelling a 7 week fetus, which is not just a little bit of blood). It sounds like you still have the baby in your uterus and that your body still believes you are pregnant. I'd be demanding answers from my doctor.

I can't tell you for sure. What did the ER doctor tell you was happening? If you are having a miscarriage the pain, bleeding and symptoms can come and go for a while. You need to follow up with your OB to determine if you have lost the pregnancy and if a D&C is needed. i am so very sorry.
