A 'great' mom is in the eye of the child. People are human and no one is immune to making a mistake now and again. Each MOM has their own beliefs on what makes a great mom and stive to attain that. I try to judge by the way my children behave. All my children are grown adults and in watching them mature and raise their own children has shown me that in the end I am a "great" mom. My children are doing well and living their own lives. I in this new position of my life am still striving to be a "great mom" and now grandma of nine. I believe that if you as mom are trying your best then that makes you a "great mom."

I have a daughter, a son and a step son. The boys are 14 and 15. I think I am a great mom because I have negotiated fairly with both boys never making either feel less important or less my own son than the other.

I try my best to juggle being a mom with being great at my job and being a great wife. I teach them to just do their best everyday because I'm certainly not a supermom, and I make mistakes, but I get up every day just trying to juggle everything and to give it my all! I just want them to be the best they can be in all aspects of their lives.

I am the mother of 3 teenage girls. I could stop right there. Do you know how hard that is?!? I recently quit my job and found work that I can do from home to be more available to my children. They are growing so fast and will be gone in a few short years. I put my own career and my personal goals on hold to be there for these girls so they can become healthy, well adjusted adults and great mothers if they choose to have children later in life.

You sound like a REAL mom to me! I appreciate your post because, although our circumstances are different, I'm the mean mom sometimes, too. I'm not Martha Stewart or Mrs. Brady but like you, I will do anything to make sure my child has the best opportunities possible. I don't think there is anything wrong with "we'll see's & I'll try's" at least I hope not. I would rather be honest with my kids so they trust me than make a bunch of empty promises & teach them that my word doesn't mean anything. So thank you for standing up for the not so perfect mom's! But FYI I think that makes you a great human being & a great role model...two important qualities great moms have!

When all else fails just give them the love of god. We I had my kids I put them in gods hands and ask him to help raise them. Don't run yourself crazy, because of all the things you stated you want for your kids I know you are a great mom.

i don't think i'm a great mom at all! i'm a work in progress. i'm always thinking i should've done this or could've done that. i don't know how other moms do it. i feel like there's so much to learn and i want my kids to grow up to be respectful, compassionate, giving, loving, contributing citizens in society and most of all i want them to be great parents themselves. i don't know if what i'm doing is enough. but i sure do try! now more than ever i think. and i'm so glad i'm in this circle of moms! the posts are always interesting, educational, funny and relatable! Very helpful indeed!

I make breakfast for dinner every friday for most part(sometimes need to have something else). "Cus I yell at Lil Bit and Puggly" and that I yell at her brother and sister when they hurt her feelings and I make them hot chocolate and let them have snacks, that's coming from 4 1/2 year old. I let them use my Kindle Fire(just as precious to me as my 3 little munchkins).

I have 5 kids of which 2 of them are 4 month old twins. I can make time for each and everyone one of them everyday. My 12 daughter is a great big sister but thats all she is she is not a babysitter. I love that she helps out with the little ones when she has time not because I make her. And it does make her a better big sister. My son is 9 and is in every sport he can think of playing and we all support him for every game. My 6 year daughter is my little ham she my tom boy / cheerleader. And my girl and boy twins are the best babies we could ever ask for. I love are family and I am a great mom because we I have taught all of us how to work together and and have a great life. We all play games together eat dinner together and just be a great family. I love being mom thats what Im on this earth to do.

I only feel like a great mom because my daughter always wants "mommy"" maybe it's because I am more ofa pushover or can't resist her "please mommy please". She smiles and runs to me when I come home, draws me pictures and wants Mommy to rock her night night. That's the only reason I feel like a great mom, but iI know I am definitely blessed.

I take time to speak to my little men like human beings and in return am spoken to the same way. I always tell them that i love them and give them lots of hugs. I also discipline them because i want them to be the best men in the world. As i type this they are both screaming at each other like dinosaurs... enjoying the freedom of being boys. lol.

I am a great mom b/c i dedicated myself to being a stay @ home mom 5 yrs ago. After a year later my mom ( R.I.P.Michelle Bokknight-Meminger) being diagnosed w/ a malignant brain tumor. Bed bound & speechless i was there buy her side each and everyday w/ my daughter (Ke'Aujmin). I managed not to go insaine facing each decision that I was forced to make. For that I am very proud of me b/c I know I did have a strange outlook on life but God has his ways of showing us things. We just have to open our eyes and realize when he's speaking to us or through us. HAVE A BLESSED & HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

My love for my son is unconditional, hes a gift from God and I let him know everyday how amazing he is- most importantly, I appreciate and encourage his uniqueness. I recognize he was put in this life to create his own way, I do not interupt that process by trying to mold him to b like me. Happy Mothers Day to all being a mommy is the greatest blessing!

I don't know if it makes me great or not...I taught them to always be kind to others and pray. I always made certain that my children knew that there wasn't anything that they couldn't tell me or talk to me about. That no matter WHATEVER happened to them or because of them in their lives, it would NEVER diminish the love I have for them now, and always.

Terry is going be 21 june the 28th and i have to put up with the way he treats me when i try to talk to him i think our relationship would be better if i raised him instead of his dad. i had him for the first 4 1/2 years of his life and even though we see each other 5 mornings a week and he stays here 2 weeks out of the month now. we are still not has close as we should be. with the way he treats me and i still let him come back i think that proves i'm a good mom

I'm a great mom because enemy though I am a full time student at two different colleges, I'm and working in finishing with great grades, I am single parent and still put my son above absolutely everything, even when I just feel like breaking down. Everything is worth it when he gives me a hug and kiss for no reason or say I love you mommy out of the blue!!!!

I feel I am a great Mom because I have always taught my son to be an individual and not follow the crowd! I taught him to love others and love the Lord is very important! I was a single Mother having to do it all for a little while, but then I got married and now we are one big family doing it together! I still feel as a Mother we have to do a lot because we cook, clean, run our children to their activities, keep up with what is happening at school, work...etc... The list just goes on and on! God gave us the most important job of all! Happy Mother's Day to all of the Moms out there!

I am a great mom because I love my boys unconditionally. I homeschool my 6 years old and take care of my 3year old while working 40 hours a week from home. I also cook and clean my home every week. Is it hard? Yes, but they are worth it. However, I am a great mom because my husband is a great father. We work together and that is what makes a difference.

I think I'm a great mom for my 3 kids because I let them be kids. I had an epic childhood of playing hard and having fun with my parents. My husband and I try to recreate that same atmosphere for our brood! It is challenging having 3 kids under the age of three, but I somehow have found the strength and patience to keep my cool under pressure, and enjoy the many fun times!

wow, license to brag about ourselves? Here goes. I'm there for my kids..I put them first. I can't say I've always been a good mom. It's so hard going from only worrying about yourself and your spouse, to putting a child before yourself, your desires, your needs even. It's taken me 2 kids, to really just accept and embrace motherhood. I cook 90% of our meals from scratch, let my kids help cook, teach them about gardening, cooking, cleaning, etc, We have one on one time each day with eachother, prayers together before bed. Really, it's all about balance, and, no no one is perfect, regardless of what you may think. You will always look back and wish you had done something different, but I believe I'm a great mom right now! :)

I feel like i am a great mom because after the week is said and done and i work full-time 45 minutes from home, i am a full-time wife, and mommy and my baby matthew always seems to wobble to me when i pick him up from the babysitter smiling saying, "mum-mum-mum-mum-mum!!" I always put his needs first and make sure he is taking care of before me or my husband. i cant wait to come home to see him when i first get to work. i love that little boy so much....

They are my world and the smiles on their faces, just knowing that I give them my best effert, makes my day everyday thats all the reward I need. Its not easy, I'm not perfect but I do my best and they love me and express their love with plenty of hugs and eskimo kisses!! They make me proud to be a mom!
