My own mom is dead, and My Mother In law is great. I have been married to my husband for 10yrs and I love his mother as if she was my own. I have been calling her Mommy and didn't even realize that I was doing that. I usually just call her mom. The question I have is she is offended by me calling her Mommy, and has asked me not to address her by that, that it is very demeaning to her she feel it is a sign of weakness to be called that. I felt very hurt that she said that to me. I think she should be happy that I respect her and love her that much that I consider her my mom also. Am I wrong to be hurt by her remark about calling her mommy on occasions in conversation. Like honey mommy wants us to go to dinner with her tonight. She gets very upset that I call her Mommy. I feel it is a slip of toque and don't even realize that I am doing it. Is it that offensive to call a Mother In Law mommy? Please e-mail your responses to nala2fly@yahoo.com. Thank You
