Teresa.. Hi. I am sorry about what your Partner said - Mother's Day or no Mother's Day, that kind of attitude is a 'no-no'. I am sure you deserve way better - you are a woman, a Mother and a partner all of this takes a lot of work, commitment, sacrifices and above all of that, love; If you are not loved and respected in return by your family, especially by your parther, this will just result in turning you into a bitter person over a long run, which, I am sure you don't want to be.
In my limited experience, men like this don't change. As I see, there are 2 options here. 1) To kick him on his b@**s - you may not find any out there; You can then ask him to man up and show you more respect; 2) Walk out with your baby girl and your head held high. Some battles are not worth it, especially when you know that the outcome may be forced 'affection'. The choice is yours :)
Wish you all the best and stay strong!
