It has been this way since she was born. We literally have tried everything. I asked my doctor about it a month ago and she dismissed it as "just a growth spurt".... but this has been going on too consistently to just be a growth spurt. My husband and I are beyond exhausted. We have tried putting her on a routine and that doesn't even work. She's not really colicky. She's just very restless. She is up every half hour crying so we get up and put her pacifier back in. We can't get her to take naps. And I know she is tired because she always has red circles under her eyes. We have tried putting her in different sleeping positions. And we have tried letting her cry but she will go on and on for an hour. We used to bed share but once she hit 3 months we started keeping her in her crib. We use an herbal medicine on her but it doesn't really seem to do much. Sometimes it helps. She is very squirmy. I am not concerned about her immune system and well-being.

Once you get the daytime sleep down, you will be amazed at how the nighttime sleep fixes itself!

If your baby is healthy aside from lack of sleep, check out this book:
Mastering Naps & Schedules by Nicole Johnson, it is an e-book so you can download it right away. She explains about fragmentation, sleep association and offers suggestions on how to get your baby back on track.
