Ok, my son has had diarrhea issues, constipation issues, and pretty much chronic diaper rash since he started visitation with his "father" when he was 4 months old. Connor is now 22 months old. He has been breastfed up untill November of this past year. My goal was 2 years but courts didnt feel that was really important so Connor ended up having to be weaned due to my milk supply decreasing when he would go to visitation. (his father wouldnt feed him breastmilk either) but ANYWAYS my son goes wed night from 5-8pm and fri at 7:30pm till sat at 7:30pm. EVERY Sunday my son has at LEAST 3 diarrhea diapers and will normally (but not always) have diarrhea wed night after he comes home, or thursday morning. Some of them usually have mucus in them and they smell horrible. During the rest of the week, his stool is formed and of normal toddler stench. My son went last night from 5-8pm. This morning he had 5 diarrhea diapers!!!! Acting fine otherwise. There was mucus in at least 2 of them and it smelled so bad it was making ME sick (im a nurse aid--i deal with poop all the time!!) I know this could possibly be a bacteria or virus or something but Connors dr also told me that mucus in the diarrhea could also be a sign of food allergy. My son is unable to take cows milk--gives him diarrhea. He has been tested twice and is not allergic to it. His father has been told multiple times to not give connor milk at all but I know he has in the past because he decided he can feed connor whatever he wants even if I tell him connor cant have something. We even have a dr order that my son cannot have milk at all because his father kept insisiting he was going to give it to him because he wanted me to stop breastfeeding. connor is allergic to peanuts but only slightly. He developed a full body rash in nov 2009 (after i stopped breastfeeding) and continued to have that till he was put on large doses of antibiotics in December. His father has never been willing to work with me and lies to me about what he feeds him so I cant even colaborate with him to find out whats going on with Connors bi-weekly diarrhea and diaper rashes. Im so sick of it!!! My mom wants me to call child services and get something done about this. I have tried SEVERAL times to talk to his father about things that can cause diarrhea and diaper rash and he keeps telling me its not his fault and just calls me names. But its amazing how 1/2 hour after he gets home saturday night, connor is having diarrhea. His butt is so red right now and I know by the time I get his rash to go away...he is back to his fathers and the whole cycle starts again!!! So...enough complaining....does ANYONE know why he would have so much mucus in his diarrhea??? Could it be a virus or is it more likely a food allergy of some sort. I just want this child to stop suffering and stop having diarrhea and diaper rash all the time. I need some answers!!
