Feeling isolated here in North Platte? I'm bi-racial, intelligent, but feeling very shunned in this new town. Am I missing something here? Would love to meet open minded mother's.

In the more rural areas, it may take a bit of time to 'fit in'. What you need to do (I'm from Wyoming) is just start to participate. Go to the fairs and festivals. Start to volunteer around town. Volunteer with the kids' classes, church, etc.

North Platte is a great area! It won't take long before you feel at home, and more accepted. Like any new place, it just takes a bit of time!

Welcome to the 'high plains'! It takes strong people, but it also produces lasting friendships and relationships. The more open you are, the more readily you'll be taken in. I forget how large North Platte is now...but it's still a fairly agricultural, rural area. I LOVE places like that, having grown up in smaller towns in Wyoming...Good luck with everything!
