Hi I am a first time mum and my son won't stop crying I have changed his milk, tried comforting him in every possibil way, he has anti colic drops in his milk and anti colic bottles but still no matter what I do he just won't stop crying. My partner works away a lot and most of the time I am on my own with little one and the consent crying is starting to get at me a little I can't leave him to cry as my friend told me little boys can get hernias from crying so hard I really don't no what to do any one have any ideas x

To a point, its good to let a baby cry... it will help his lungs develop. Juat as with older children, you have to show him who is boss. But with him being so young, i am concerned it could be a mwdical issue. . I have a niece the same way and we took her off formula and put her on milk and ahe is doing much better. As I said before... pediatrician will be your best bet.

Have you taken him to the pediatrician? He might have an underlying problem for the fussiness. Also, maybe he cannot tolerate milk, he might need a milk replacement, or soy milk or something of that nature. He might be lactose intolerant. All of these things can be diagnosed by your pediatrician, I would talk to him/her before changing anything more as you don't want to shock his little body.

Seriously Marissa? he is ONE MONTH OLD!!! Show him whose boss? WTF????? This child has just spent 9 months safely in his mother's womb, comforted, mum's heartbeat, safe. And now, a whole single month after being spat out into the world, you need to show him who is boss?

Besides the fact that there are plenty of studies that allowing a baby so young just to cry it out is damaging.......

Definitely see your doctor just to rule out any medical condition, but as a suggestion, have you considered "wearing" your baby? Does your baby cry even when you are holding him?
