My 1 year old son is biting at his daycare. He seems not be to be biting out of anger,. My ped. said it is normal at this age. But I want to stop the behavior, what advice do people have for me? Thanks so much!

I doubt any daycare would be happy about putting stuff in a child's mouth like that. Certainly I wouldn't be happy for my child to be cared for by them if they would!

You need to talk to the daycare providers about their policy for dealing with this. It most probably is a phase, maybe he's teething. Does he have teething rings or similar he can bite on?
The best way to deal with it is say no biting, it hurts and move him away from other children for a short while.

I use to give my kids alum seasoning. It makes them spit and they remember it tastes bad so they don't want it. It's used for pickling. When they bite allow the daycare to put a little on their tongue this deters the behavior right then. Because they won't remember what they are in trouble for when you pick them up.
