My 10 yr old daughter is beginning to grow hair under her arms. When is it a good time for her to start shaving?

When she wants to... If it is just a few little strands I would probably try and convince her to hold off for a while. But if she is self conscious, I would let her do it.

My mom let us start shaving when not doing it made us self-conscious or uncomfortable. That's the approach I'll take when my girls get to that stage.

If you wait for her to tell you that she's not comfortable that gives her control over her body in that sense.

When she wants to. If it will make her feel better about herself or just feel better in general, let her do it. That way she won't have a low self esteem or possibly have anyone teasing her about it.

I agree with everyone else, when she wants too. My mum wouldn't let me to begin with and I was so self conscious about it. I ended up doing it without her approval and cut myself quite a few times.
