My daughter had a little bit of baby acne for a few weeks when she was around 1 month old. It cleared up by itself, and never came back. However a couple months ago she started getting these white "blackhead" type bumps on her cheeks and her arms. It doesn't look like the baby acne. No red pimples or white puss. These are tiny white bumps that actually stick out. I know you should never pop or pinch a pimple, especially on babies, but these will actually flake out sometimes. She scratches them out when she scratches her face, and if I see one really sticking out, i can use my pinky nail and scoop it out. Its a little hard "seed" type thing. The spot usually turns red for a couple hours and then goes away. I wash her face with Aveeno baby wash every night, and clean it with warm water after every feeding, but they are not going away. I just don't want her scratching up her face and leaving the red marks. Any suggestions on how to clear them up? Thank you!

I used to swear by Aveeno, but I guess it might not be great for their skin. Someone gave me something when My son was born.

It is an off product of Eucerin and is designed specifically for baby's skin. It is called Aquaphor. The big tub I have costs about $8. But my son is 5 and I still have over half of the tub. You don't use a lot, but it is for anything. And when I say anything, I mean it. I've even used it. Just a little bit per whatever. It says on the label cures diaper rash in 6 hours. It really does. I love the stuff and in 5 years, have not had to replace the gift. Some nurse gave it to me. The best gift ever. I wish I knew who it was, because it has paid off tremendously more than I would've thought.

Hope this helps. Oh, and we live in TN... I know right? The weather went from rain, to drought, to rain, to dry and burning you to a crisp... oh well.

My 5 year old still gets them. The pediatrician said it's no big deal really. Their sweat glands in their skin aren't as developed as ours, and they will get them till they are at least 1/2 to 2 years old. And even after, they will get them every once in a while. For older kids, like my 5 year old, sometimes the lotion you use can prevent the sweat glands from doing their job, they are little baby's that haven't finished growing. That's all. Don't stress. (^_^)

As far as cleaning them up, try using a little bit of baby lotion, very minimal. For the most part, you just have to wait it out. My son had the same problem.

Oh ok! That makes sense! We live in NC and it has been unbelievably hot this summer. too hot. Could that be making it worse? I wonder... I just hate that she scratches up her face...

We have been using Aveeno so far. I thought it was a very gentle brand, but I wonder if that is making it worse.

Thank you so much for this response! Your answer was helpful and encouraging. I really appreciate it. :)
