Hi there! I need some help as I'm desperate and don't know what to do anymore.
My son has been walking since he was 9mth and has been losing weight fast, perhaps due to moving a lot and he is a really active child. He has also got 9 teeth perfect to chew anything if only he did it!! I have tried everything, pureed food, lumpy food, finger food, my food, feeding him, let him feed himself etc. I'm out of ideas. All he wants is breast, breast and breast. He'll have one or two spoons of whatever i give him and thats it( I cook our food no jars or anything), some days he will chew a bit of meat just to throw it on the floor uneaten, some other days he will have a a whole bowl of veg for lunch, to the next day spit it back at me. He used to love yogurts but not even that he wants anymore.
In the mean time I have to breast feed him every two hours as he wont take bottles either which is very inconvenient specially when we are out because he will grab my top and start pulling it crying,so needless to say he is still waking up at nigh. To be honest I'm fed up I want to stop it and go back to work, but if he wont eat I cant. I had only planned to breastfeed until 6 months but because he didnt like any formula i gave him, and believe me i tried every single variety out there, unsuccessfully :/ I decided to extend it to 12 months and the date is fast approaching.
Has this happened to anyone else?
what's the solution?
Thanks

My oldest was super easy, so when my son came along it was just like I was a first time mom. I thought I knew everything about parenting until he came along....

He's been SOOOO stubborn right from birth... I have to get rather creative to get things done with him that all I had to do when his sister was this age is tell her and it'd get done.

Hi Dove! Thanks for replying.
well I guess I'll just wait I dont think I can do a month of constantly crying besides I've got a little stubborn one, I have tried to force feed him and it doesnt work I have also tried not giving him breast and every time he wanted it tried to give him food and it was also a waste of time and patience as he'd rather starve himself...Also his little puppy sad face every time he tries to pull my top and i dont let him just melts my heart.
The only problem is its starting to hurt he is starting to suck harder and harder and for longer and longe but I guess i'll just have to endure it. Hopefully it wont long for him to ditch milk for food, I was just a little worried as one always is with the first child :)

All I can tell you is that he's perfectly normal and I had one just like him. He barely ate solids before a year and even had some breast milk only days until around a year and a half. Yes, it's inconvenient and annoying at times, but it IS perfectly normal for some little ones. He wasn't ready to wean until he was 3 (actually wasn't ready, but ended up with out a choice at that point).

My friend had a baby similar to this as well. She pretty much force weaned him at a year and a half and endured over a month of almost constant screaming.... Not worth doing that to a kid, imo.
